Transforming lives through the use of assistive technologies enabling those with disabilities, those who have become disabled and the senior population to enhance their lives through assistive technologies to leads an independent life.

The aims of Transpire:

To relieve the person financial hardship by aiding them to buy Assistive Technology under the description of charitable purpose relating to 'the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'.

  • Directed towards the relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial or other disadvantage. This includes relief given by the provision of assistive technology and care to such persons.
  • In most cases, we will treat the relief of poverty and the relief of financial hardship the same. Grants of money;
    • The provision of items that would enhance their independence.
    • The provision of assistive technologies to assists with vocational training, further education and higher education to help the recipients funds for equipments intended to bring the quality of life of the beneficiaries to a reasonable standard.
  • To relieve the person of the effects of old age, such as those providing specialist advice, equipments.
  • The advancement of education Provide financial help for disabled students in education through means of assistive technologies.
  • The advancement of amateur sport The advancement of disability recreational sport means the advancement of any sports or games which promote health by involving physical or mental skill or exertion and which are undertaken on an amateur basis.

The backbone of the charity of assistive technologies

Julie McElroy was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP), it has given her mobility problems and also have a speech and hearing impairment. While undertaking my Dissertation at University it took me in a different direction of looking at Assistive Technologies. Combining my IT knowledge with technologies passion gave me that niche to advance my knowledge in a specialized field where I am constantly using assistive technologies to live my life daily.

However more recently Julie has required the most sophisticated technologies to lead an active independent life. Now she has the passion to ensure others receive technologies to lead an independent life.
